Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced AIX DevOps Engineer to manage and automate the build, deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of applications running on IBM AIX environments. The role combines traditional AIX system administration with modern DevOps practices for infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise-grade deployments. Key Responsibilities : AIX System Engineering: Manage, monitor, and maintain IBM AIX systems (LPARs, VIOS, NIM, etc.). Configure and manage file systems, volume groups, users, and permissions. Performance tuning, kernel parameter optimization, and patch management. Troubleshoot OS-level and application-level issues on AIX. DevOps & Automation: Develop shell scripts, Ansible playbooks, or other automation scripts for regular operations. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines integrating Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory. Automate application deployment, configuration, and rollback on AIX platforms. Implement monitoring and alerting using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, or IBM Tivoli. Integration & Security: Work with application teams for integration with MQ, WebSphere, DB2, or Oracle. Configure network, NFS mounts, firewalls, and load balancer settings. Enforce security hardening standards (e.g., STIG, CIS benchmarks for AIX). Implement audit/compliance controls (e.g., sudo logs, login tracking, secure FTP). Infrastructure Support: Participate in infrastructure planning, DR drills, and capacity planning. Provide support for backup, restore, and archival processes using TSM or enterprise solutions. Troubleshoot hardware alerts in collaboration with IBM support (HMC).
